Registering for Gluten Free Society Membership Today

Gluten Free Society (glutenfreesociety.org) is an organisation I have known about for over four (4) years. It claims to be the ultimate resource on TRUE gluten free diets.

Approximately 4 months ago, the Gluten Dude made a legitimate (albeit very biased) post on his blog. The article itself refers to the aforementioned organisation as an atrocity and cult. While he may have publicised his viewpoint in good faith, with the intention of deterring readers from "wasting" their money on resources and subscriptions, he actually might just have motivated me to support their cause!

Now, for more context:

I initially discovered glutenfreesociety.org several years ago, when a friend told me that they had read something on corn gluten and its effects on individuals living with celiac disease. They blogged about it, wondering if their celiac child would benefit from avoiding corn, rice and other grains as well as wheat, barley and rye. I read the post and just as I was about to leave, a comment appeared. The author of the comment was Dr. Peter Osborne.

As someone who is big on gluten free living achieving optimal health, I am always interested in others' viewpoints regardless of the source. I believe that evidence exists to support any bias and that hypotheses are important steps toward a solution.

As a result, I am currently applying for membership, which will cost me $69, with a monthly subscription fee of $12.99.

I very much look forward to keeping my readers up to date on what I discover during my membership period.

Meanwhile, there's a new news item with Gluten Free Society Founder (Dr. Peter Osborne) that just came out about a day ago, worth a watch. :)
